DISCIPLINES

NITS Mirza offers admission in the following disciplines of 4-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree course under affiliation to Gauhati University for the academic session 2011-12:

• B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

• B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

• B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (ME)

Each discipline would admit 60 students this year.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION IN FIRST SEMESTER

Eligibility Requirements

  1. 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of any reputed board/ council with relaxation, wherever applicable, as per Government norms for different categories.

  2. A rank in the merit list of AIEEE or the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) of the State of Assam.

  3. Age not to exceed 25 years as on 01 October 2011, with relaxation of 5 years in case of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and physically handicapped categories.

Mode of Selection

  1. 65% through merit in CEE, Assam with reservations for different categories as per Government norms.

  2. 25% through merit in AIEEE.

  3. 10% through merit in qualifying examination and AIEEE/CEE and interview.

LATERAL ADMISSION OF DIPLOMA HOLDERS IN ENGINEERING IN THIRD SEMESTER (2010-11 SESSION)

 

Limited seats are available for admission of Diploma holders in engineering and technology directly in the 3rd Semester of 2011-12 academic session.

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

  1. Diploma in the appropriate branch of engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks from any institution under or recognized by State Council for Technical Education, Assam with relaxation, wherever applicable, as per Government norms for different categories. Diploma holders from institutes other than those under State Council for Technical Education, Assam must submit certificate of recognition of the institutes by the Council.

  2. A rank in the merit list of Entrance Examination to be conducted by NITS Mirza for Lateral Admission.

Through merit in the Entrance Examination with reservations for different categories as per Government norms.

 

Entrance Examination

 

Eligible diploma holders in engineering and technology seeking admission through

lateral entry must appear in an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the institute on a date and time to be announced later. The Entrance Examination will be of one paper of 100 marks and 3 hours duration.

 

Courses for Entrance Examination
 
 
Mathematics 50 marks As per 1st & 2nd Semester syllabus of 4-year B.E. Degree Course of Gauhati University.
Engineering 50 marks General questions on the specialization (branch) in Diploma Course.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION FOR NITS MIRZA STUDENTS

 

Hostel facility is available within / near NITS Mirza campus in separate hostels for boys and girls established, managed and

 

run for NITS Mirza students by DIHANG EDUTECH., an associate of North East Technical Education Society (NETES) and NITS

 

Mirza.

Hostel Fees for Session 2011-2012:

 

  1. One time Refundable Security Deposit  = Rs. 20000.00
  2. Seat rent, food and logistics for one year (2011-2012):
    • Rs. 60000.00+ Rs.1000.00 VAT=Rs.61000.00 (for 2 seated room)
    • Rs. 55000.00 +Rs.1000.00 VAT= Rs.56000.00(for 3 seated room)

Mode of Payment of Hostel Fees:

 

  Hostel fees should be paid by Demand Draft in favour of DIHANG EDUTECH INFRASTRUCTURE PVT. LTD. payable at   

 

  GUWAHATI. Local Cheque of Guwahati or At Par Cheque will also be accepted. However a fine of Rs.500.00 will be charged   

 

  on bounced cheque.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:

 

  1. Only students of NITS Mirza will be provided accommodation in the
    hostels.
  2. Hostel seats will be allotted only after the students get admitted in NITS Mirza and payment of 1st installment of hostel fees. Choice of room type (2/3 seated) shall be on first come (paid) first serve basis.
  3. After being admitted in the hostels a student shall not be entitled for any refund of hostel fees except for the security deposit at the time of leaving NITS Mirza completing the course or discontinuing education leaving NITS Mirza.
  4. Security deposit will be refunded at the time of leaving NITS Mirza after adjustment of any pending dues, fines, compensatory charges etc., if any, without any interest thereon. Even if a student withdraws his seat from hostel due to any reason he will not be entitled for refund of security deposit till he continues his study at NITS Mirza..
  5. Any dispute regarding hostel matters shall be subject to Guwahati jurisdiction only.
